How much does professional Wi-Fi installation cost?
Professional Wi-Fi installation is priced by the number of access points and how hard it is to run a cable to each one. The equipment is usually the smaller part of the bill; the cable pathway to each ceiling or wall location, and the time to place and tune the system, make up most of it.
What you are actually paying for
A survey or walk-through to decide how many access points the home needs and where they go, a cable run to each location, mounting, configuration, and tuning so devices roam cleanly between them.
Mesh systems that rely on wireless backhaul need no cable and cost less to install, but they lose speed with every hop. Wired access points cost more up front because every unit gets its own Ethernet run.
What raises or lowers the quote
Number of floors, wall materials such as plaster or stucco, and outdoor coverage all add access points. Attic or crawlspace access makes each run faster; a slab home or finished second floor makes it slower.
Reusing existing Ethernet runs, or adding access points during other wiring work, lowers the cost of each one.
What a fair quote includes
The number and model of access points, where each mounts, how each is cabled, whether a PoE switch is included, who configures the network, and whether coverage is verified after the install.
Best for
Choosing between mesh and wired access points, or comparing Wi-Fi quotes.
